The Adult Day Services was established in 1985.
The Center’s purpose is to promote the participants’ health, prevent
illness and further disability, restore and maintain a maximum level of
function and empower each individual. The Adult
Day Services of Shelby County provides respite as well as therapeutic
and Our goal
is to provide day services to individuals 18 years of age and older who
has a mental or physical disability that prevents them from performing
activities of daily living. Clients are transported door to door daily and
are provided the noon meal and snacks on the site located in the lower
level of Fair Haven Shelby County Home. A therapeutic day is between the
hours of 8:00 A.M – 3:30 P.M. Ruth Burnside, Day Services Director,
maintains a excellent communication with the clients’ family and
caregivers to ensure continuity and appropriate care. Adult
Day Services of Shelby County is a result of funding provided by
Catholic Social Services (PASSPORT), Area Agency on Aging, Shelby County
United Way, Ohio Dept of Health and Human Services (Waiver IV), Shelby
County Commissioners as well as individuals who donate throughout the
community. Funds are also provided from private pay clients.
